Duration

One-year, full-time academic course.

Course Overview

This course provides learners with a broad foundation in computing, including programming and design principles, 2D and 3D computer graphics, web authoring and games design.

It is designed to help learners become more confident before progressing to a computing degree and to develop greater proficiency in programming.

By the end of the course, students will have designed and developed games using both 2D and 3D software. They will also have created mobile applications, developed object-oriented code and documented their learning journey.

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied, LCVP or QQI Level 4 Award.

Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants, aged over 23, who do not meet these entry requirements.

Work experience is an important part of this course. LCFE has a range of industry contacts within the local area, helping learners gain practical experience in a professional workplace.

Students will reflect on their workplace duties, the skills they developed and the experience they gained during their placement.
